Listen to author podcasts

The Centre for Youth Literature at the State Library of Victoria has a great website about books, Insideadog. The quote accompanying the title makes me smile:

“Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend. Inside a dog, it’s too dark to read.” – Groucho Marx.

Apart from great news and reviews about books you’ll love to read, there is an excellent selection of author podcasts you might like to download.

Some of the authors include:

  • M. T. Anderson (Feed; Octavian Nothing)
  • John Green (Looking for Alaska; Paper Towns)
  • Mal Peet (Keeper; Tamar)
  • Randa Abdel-Fattah (Growing up Muslim in Australia)
  • Philip Ardagh (Eddie Dickens trilogy)
  • Scott Westerfeld (Peeps; So yesterday)
  • Scot Gardner (Gravity)
  • Neil Gaiman (Anansi boys; Coraline)
  • Jonathan Stroud (The Bartimaeus trilogy)
  • Garth Nix (The keys to the kingdom)
  • and others

And while you’re on this site, leave your comment with the rest about your opinion on the film Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
